Practice Records
Please fill out the information listed above on a 3X5 index card, get it signed by a parent, and place it in the turn-in box for your grade level in the band room every Monday. The minimum required time is 100 minutes a week.
New Enrichment Guidelines
Each 9 weeks, there are two enrichment assignments due.
(Please see “PR & Enrichment Dates” to find due dates and topic assignments.)
Composer Project
Using the assigned composer of the quarter, students may choose one of the following projects:
1.
Composer Biography
– 5 paragraph Essay about the composer’s life, works, and times.
2.
Composer Poster
– Must include picture(s), dates, and information about the composer’s life, works, and times.
3.
Composer
Concert Critique
All band students must attend a live musical performance each 9 weeks and write a critique about the concert you attended. (This is not intended to be a financial hardship, as many free concerts are available in the surrounding area.)
Suggestions for possible concert venues
:
Savannah River Winds Performances (Prism Concert, NA 1st Baptist Church, September 20 @ 7:30 pm; Veteran’s Day Concert, Grace Methodist Church, November 9 @ 7:30 pm; GMEA 10th District Concert @ West Acres Baptist Church in Evans @ 6:45 pm, Hopeland Gardens Concert Series @ 7 pm in Aiken, SC. (All SRW concerts are free.)
