Make-up Work
Class Make-up Work: If you are absent from school for any reason, it is your responsibility to see me for your assignments. You have 5 days to make-up any missed work.
Performance Make-up Work: Performance make-up work will only be given in extreme cases. If you are absent from a performance, you will receive an "F" for that performance. The only excuses acceptable are for illness, death in the family, or special personal emergencies. If this should happen, you need to bring a note from your parent or guardian stating the reason for your absence. Your make-up work will be a research paper on an assigned composer. A required rehearsal is also very important. If you miss a rehearsal, you will be given an "F" for that rehearsal which will count the same as a major test grade. The only acceptable excuses are the ones listed under "Excuses" on the next page. You must also bring a note stating the reason for your absence if this should occur.
You are expected to be at school 30 minutes before a concert in order to warm up and tune. If you are late for the warm-up without a good reason, your grade can be lowered 1 point for each minute you are late. If you are late for a rehearsal, your grade can be lowered 1 point for each minute you are late. If you are late for the actual concert without a reasonable excuse, you will not be allowed to perform and this will count as an absence for that performance and you will receive an "F".
